You are invited
to participate in the 2004 National Moim for Peace,
a gathering of Korean activists that will take place
in Los Angeles on Memorial Day Weekend (May
28 - 30, 2004).
Moim 2004, convened by Mindullae and Nodutdol, seeks
to explore a common agenda for peace, justice
and unification for the Korean people. Through
workshops and discussions, we hope to facilitate a
network of community-based activists and organizations
working on joint campaigns that bring together local,
national, and international struggles. We
envision Korean strategizing, sharing resources, and
building capacity for sustained organizing around
important issues affecting our communities. Possible
topics could include: peace in Korea, health care
access, immigrant and labor rights, anti-racism and
environmental justice, gender and sexuality, and cultural
and media autonomy.
This year is also the 10th Korea Exposure
& Education Program (KEEP) and we plan to organize
an informal celebration with as many friends,
supporters and alumni as possible at the Moim. We
hope you can join us as we acknowledge this anniversary
and the important work that many of us are doing around
the country.
Let us know if you have any questions at korea-moim(at)egroups.com.
Hope to see you in May!
In solidarity,
Moim Planning Team
